Efficient Go-to-Market. We do not rely exclusively on a traditional enterprise sales force. Our intelligence-led
growth and broad distribution partnerships enable us to rapidly grow customer adoption and revenue without
being limited by the rate at which we can grow our sales and marketing personnel, resulting in greater sales
efficiency compared to typical enterprise technology companies.

Internal Usage of Claude. Our operating efficiency reflects the structural advantages of an organization that is
one of the most intensive users of its own technology. For example, over 90% of the contributions to our
codebase in September 2026 were written by Claude. Additionally, the average daily volume of code
contributed to our codebase per engineer in the three months ended September 30, 2026 was over 45 times the
average daily volume in the year ended December 31, 2024. Claude is embedded in workflows across all teams,
providing a substantial increase in the overall productivity of our organization, with each new model version
accelerating this effect.

Long-Term Investment Philosophy

Building frontier AI requires large-scale investments, and our financial model demonstrates that we can make
those investments while generating increasingly attractive returns. This is evidenced when comparing the three
months ended June 30, 2026 to the three months ended June 30, 2025:

•

•

•

•

•

Revenue increased 1,368%;

Compute and infrastructure expense increased 300%;

Other operating expenses increased 741%;

Operating margin increased from (152)% to 8%; and

Adjusted Operating Margin increased from (129)% to 19%.

This combination of unprecedented revenue growth, compute efficiency, and operating efficiency driving this
model gives us the confidence to keep investing at scale, both near-term and long-term.

To support our research, model development, customer demand, and internal usage of Claude, we continue to
invest at scale. As of and subsequent to September 30, 2026, we have entered into purchase commitments and
lease agreements, including short-term commitments, as well as leases not yet commenced, with an aggregate
committed spend of more than $                   . These commitments include approximately $                    expected to be
incurred before December 31, 2030, and substantially all of the remainder is expected to be incurred between
2031 and 2045. Approximately $           of these commitments are due in the next 12 months. See the section
titled “Management’s Discussion and Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations—Liquidity and
Capital Resources—Contractual Obligations” for more information.

As we invest heavily towards the incredible opportunity ahead, our core advantages enable us to generate more
from every dollar we invest in scaling our business. The momentum in our financial trajectory increases our
conviction to continue investing to build and scale Powerful AI that is safe, beneficial, and understandable, and
positions us well for long-term growth.

Our Growth Strategy

Our growth strategy reflects our conviction that sustained leadership in frontier AI requires continuous
investment in our people and culture, compute and infrastructure, Claude’s intelligence, capability, and safety,
the breadth of Claude’s availability, customer adoption and expansion, entering new markets, and strategic
transactions and partnerships that accelerate our mission.

•

Invest in our Talent and Culture. Talent is one of our most important advantages, and
maintaining our talent density requires retaining exceptional people and recruiting world-class talent,
including researchers and engineers, who share our mission. At the same time, we leverage Claude
itself to grow our business without growing headcount linearly, resulting in extraordinary
contributions per employee. We intend to continue investing in our low-ego, high-impact, and mission-
aligned culture that has driven our talent density as we have scaled.

How this was made

421pages reviewed

The review

Three primary reviewers read non-overlapping ranges of the complete main filing. All 43 embedded image instances were transcribed and visually reviewed, including the founders’ letter, charts, and customer case studies. Financial tables were also checked visually for dates, units, and column alignment.

A separate reviewer checked the draft’s calculations, accounting interpretations, and customer qualifications. An additional check covered the later merged findings. The result is 62 findings and 21 customer examples.

The boundary

Companion contracts and other exhibits named in the filing’s index are separate documents and were not independently reviewed. Customer outcomes, technical benchmarks, forecasts, and scientific priority claims remain attributed company or customer disclosures.

The numbers

Dollar figures are U.S. dollars. H1 means the six months ended June 30; Q2 means the three months ended June 30. The 2026 interim financial statements are unaudited. Our calculations show their inputs and are labeled separately from reported values.

Blank fields stay undisclosed. Figures with different periods, conditions, or potentially overlapping scopes are kept separate. An earlier tender price is not an IPO price.

What the evidence labels mean
Reported in filing

Company estimate / company claim
An estimate or assertion attributed to the company, with its uncertainty preserved.
Our calculation
A derived figure using cited inputs. It is not a separately reported company metric.
Customer example
A selected case study, with its measurement limits. It is not representative ROI.
Proposed / conditional
A status qualifier for an arrangement that is not yet effective or depends on stated conditions.
